Elmhurst is the heart of the world’s borough, Queens, NY. It stands as one of the most diverse zip codes on planet Earth. Representing nearly 140 languages spoken from 106 countries around the world, the residents and congregation of Elmhurst Islamic Center represent the sparkling diversity of our Ummah. Located off bustling Queens Boulevard, Elmhurst Islamic Center has become a spiritual home in both utility and convenience for passing worshippers, recent Immigrants and a growing first, second and third generation communities. Over 15 years, Elmhurst Islamic Center has worked tirelessly to become an integral part of the cultural and religious setting in Elmhurst, working with community leaders, elected officials, police precincts, firehouses, other faith-based groups to serve the community.

With joy and humility, we express the need for larger accommodations to support our growing congregation.

Having secured & fully paid for the the adjacent real estate property, Elmhurst Islamic Center must now build and construct on that land, allowing for adequate prayer facilities, education and community support services currently not possible for lack of space. We are honored to surpass our walls, pray on concrete and sidewalks as a reflection of our commitment to community and faith. With this larger building, we can aim to do so much more.

Our target is $3.5M for project completion. Permits are filed and approved. Building renders are drawn and ready.

Please support our Masjid expansion project!

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (perpetual charity);  beneficial knowledge, or a pious child who supplicates for him. [Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim 1631]

“Charity does not decrease wealth.” [Ṣaḥiḥ Muslim 2588]

“Those who spend their wealth in charity day and night, secretly and openly, their reward is with Allah and there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve.” [Surah Baqarah - 274]

We appeal to you, we plead with you and we thank you.
